Dear Fellow Beatlemaniac,
Do you have a true passion for The Beatles?
Did it start (like me) back in '64 with The Ed Sullivan Show? Sitting in front of the TV watching those 4 Mop-Tops from Liverpool.
Ah, remember first hearing "close your eyes and I'll kiss you...tomorrow I'll miss you...remember I'll always be true". I remember it like it was yesterday, and every time it brings a smile to my face.
Have you spent years and lots of $$$ searching for memorabilia to add to your Beatles collection?
Whether it’s rare vinyl like "The Butcher Cover" or every label variation for "Please, Please Me" on Vee Jay Records or rare memorabilia…
It doesn’t matter because it’s our passion.
For me it was rare unreleased versions of the boys' songs, it could be live performances or in the studio takes or interviews…anything that I could not find on their commercially released material.
But this stuff is not so easy to find.
So I set out to put together the ULTIMATE Beatles Radio Show!
Hi, I'm Woody Lifton, and I'm a "Beatlemaniac". It started in 1964 from that first Ed Sullivan appearance. I was hooked just like so many of you. From my first "bootleg" Beatles L.P. I knew that people wanted to hear more than just studio cut recordings. How about:
- live concerts
- BBC radio recordings
- alternativee studio takes and mixes
- press conferences and interviews
THESE were the things people really wanted to hear!
I was invited to co-host and program Jim Kerr’s Saturday Morning Beatles Hour on WPIX –FM in NY and had my own radio show in college. I was always a big fan of Scott Muni's Ticket To Ride and Joe Johnson's Beatle Brunch which started me thinking that the information on these shows was great but all they ever played was the same album tracks that I had heard for over 40 years.
I KNEW these shows would be much more interesting if they included some of the live performances, BBC radio shows and alternativee studio takes and mixes that I had in my possession. And then the light bulb went on...
Why not make my own show, the way I would want to hear it.
And so…the idea for Pop Go The Beatles was born. But it had to be different from every Beatles show that was on the air. How do I set my show apart from the other’s? By NEVER playing an album cut. That’s how!
I used my industry connections, did 1,000s of hours of research, collected every alternativee studio take and BBC radio program I could find and put together a radio show that would keep even the BIGGEST Beatles junkie hooked on every word and note.
It included:
- ALL of The Beatles live performances
- A massive collection of alternative studio takes and mixes
- EVERY BBC radio show The Beatles appeared on
- 100's of incredible reference books
- Rare and mostly unheard interviews and press conferences.
...Everything a true Beatles fan would want.
But then it was BANNED in the U.S!!!
The show ran for 25 weeks on WJNA radio in Florida and reviews were amazing! We were ready to get the show syndicated on a national basis. The "top guns" at Infinity Broadcasting loved the show, but said it had "way too much unauthorized material in it and they
wouldn't dare air it".
The show was NEVER heard again...
...until now!
"Let me just say that I was more than pleasantly surprised as I started listening to the shows - in fact, I was soon in Beatles-nirvana!"
Not only was there LOTS of stuff I hadn't heard before (both the versions of the songs and the interviews played), but it was factually correct, with meticulous attention paid to each detail. As I listened to more and more episodes, I really became aware of what a stupendous project "Pop Go The Beatles" is. Although there have been great Beatles radio series in the past, I can honestly say that PGB is probably THE best Beatles radio series that I've heard - especially from a Beatle fan's perspective and what THEY would expect from a Beatles show. That's over 40 full hours of commercial-free music, interviews, narratives and information NEVER heard before. This stuff is priceless!! But it wasn't fair to keep it all to myself!! |
Why you can LEGALLY own All 21 Episodes --
even though they were BANNED in the USA!
Obviously, this CD set is priceless. (They certainly are to me) Let me explain what went into this amazing collection.
Just to air all the shows on the radio cost over $12,000
All the research material, books, articles, etc. cost more than $1,000
Interviews, press conferences and all previously unheard music was over $5,000
Remember, there are NO album tracks in over 40 hours of show time.
If you add in the incredible amount of time (we're talking YEARS) involved to accumulate all this material, produce, host and put the shows together, this package of memorabilia cost me well over $25,000. Again, it's value is PRICELESS!
But I'm offering you the opportunity to own this amazing set for much less than that ... only $197 for the entire 21-show set! A small fraction of what it cost me to produce the show! See other purchase options here.
Why, you ask? Because a true Beatles Fan will appreciate this CD set as I have through the years. It's the whole reason I did this in the first place...besides, my mom always taught me to share!
In addition, these shows ran for 25 weeks in 2003 without any "legal peeps" from Apple Corporation. Since they were already aired, they ARE legal to own for your personal use. It's that simple!

"The world will need people like you as the years pass and the Beatles aren't as familiar as they once were!
"
Dear Woody:
Just wanted to tell you how much I'm enjoying the full CD set from your show. I'm listening right now to Tony Sheridan and the "Sweet Georgia Brown" recording. It's great! Like you, I'm crazy about the Beatles - maybe sadly addicted. I read about your show via the Beatles collectors chat room and copied the earcandy interview.
I think it's great that you've opened up your vault of recordings to do this. I've often fantasized about doing my own show - around various themes. Or even just spinning Beatles music. The world will need people like you as the years pass and the Beatles aren't as familiar as they once were!
Thanks again. Looking forward to hearing your next project - and there better be a next project!
Best Wishes,

"Every time I listen to
another show I learn something new about the Beatles,
their music and their recording process."
As a long time Beatles fan and the author of "The
Beatles in India" I was very pleased to appear on 2
Episodes of Pop Go The Beatles. I was even more
pleased when I heard the high quality of the
shows.
These shows take you inside the
recording of the Beatles music by dissecting the
recording process and playing embryonic versions of
many of the Beatles songs. Each episode is filled with
incredible interviews, alternative studio takes and
mixes, as well as a unique perspective of what it was
like to grow up with the Beatles music as the
soundtrack of your life.
Once I met Woody, and discovered how
deeply his passion for the Fab-4 runs, I understood
why the shows are so special. Don't miss this
opportunity to get your hands on these shows. They
will become a huge part of your Beatles collection and
increase your knowledge of the band's creative and
recording process.

"As a
long time, first generation Beatles fan, I thought
that I had heard it all, but after listening to these
shows I was stunned to hear this much music I had
never heard before."
I just wanted to say a few things about
Pop Go The Beatles. The hosts of the show, Joyce
Kaufman and Woody Lifton do a very professional job. Make sure you give this show a
listen. It will be worth your time.
The
show covers almost all aspects of the Beatles musical
careers, their movies, their original songs, songs the
Beatles covered in their stage act and Beatles songs
covered by other artists, the Beatles albums, out takes
from their recording sessions, live concerts, BBC
radio shows and incredible interviews.
If you are a
Beatles fan I urge you not to pass up the opportunity
to hear and learn the real story behind the Beatles
music. This is not a one-time radio special, it
is over twenty 2-hour shows. Each show is expertly
researched and filled with songs and interviews that I had never heard before.
So
please give this show a chance, you won't be
sorry.

"I was
thoroughly amazed and glued to the speakers. "
I'd just like to say that I received episode #2
(thanks Woody!) and I was amazed. Alternate takes and
interview material that I hadn't heard before (and
that's saying something!). Paul made comments about
John being pushy in the early days as to the order of
the song writing credit, obviously a bone in the craw
for Paul since they initially made it big, which shed
even more light on the recent flap over this.
George Martin takes you through the making of
Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane in great
detail as he sits by the console and pans between the
different vocal, instrument and percussion tracks on
the songs. All in all I was
thoroughly amazed and glued to the speakers. I just
wish Pop Go The Beatles would get syndicated in
the Bay Area!

"Thanks for the
incredible effort you put into the show. Great Stuff. "
Hey Woody,
My name is Jim and I'm a
big fan of the Beatles. I was lucky enough to happen
upon your broadcast of Pop Go The Beatles this past
Saturday night on WJNA while I was cruising down 95
winding up a long drive from Aiken SC to my mom's in
Boca Raton Fl.
Your show was so interesting it
helped me block out all the distractions of the road
and put it on auto pilot while I listened to the
fabulous audio you provided. Is your show syndicated?
If so please email with the time and station it is on
in SC.
Thanks for the
incredible effort you put into the show. Great Stuff.
